July Favourites 2012

Hey my lovelies,

I am here with another post on my July favourites! I've finally gotten everything worked out on school and my health so I'm glad to get back on track with making YouTube videos and of course, posting here on my new blog! If you're not subscribed to my YouTube channel, I'll link the video at the end of the post for you guys!

So, the things I have been loving for the month of July (it's not much and they are kinda random...this whole month I haven't been wearing make-up at all unless I go out so yeah...hahaha)

Sephora compact mirror: I love this mirror so much! It's actually so convenient. I use it of course when I do my make-up every day. The two mirrors actually are different views. One is more magnified and the other is just a normal view. I love to use this especially when I use my liquid liner because I can easily see the strokes and touch up in places where I missed the application. I got this from a gift card from my friend Jessica for my 19th birthday! I just though it was a very cute and quirky idea from Sephora! Not only did I get this nice mirror I also got money to spend there.

Nars Duo Eyeshadow Compact in 'Hula Hula': I cannot rave about this product enough! I recently purchased (I put it in a recent blog post) this eyeshadow duo and I absolutely fell in love with it! I'm a sucker for eyeshadows, preferably pink, and this is just one of the most gorgeous shades I own! The pink as I mentioned before is a strawberry pink with golden flecks and it is just gorgeous on the lid. The hazelnut brown that comes in the palette, I think, is Buck from Urban Decay with an edge. I really love to use this for a neutral eye and you can definitely jazz it up too. The NARS duos are always so complementing to each other. I think I might have to purchase more!

Tokidoki Kabuki Brush: Okay, you seriously all might shoot me because I also talked about this in a previous and very recent blog post...ahahah. But this kabuki brush. I. love. it. I been searching for the perfect kabuki brush and I have definitely found it. The bristles on this are so soft and applies my powder that I used to set my foundation amazingly. And, it helps that it's purple too..how cute! Also, it was 16 bucks...I feel like I stole it.

In general, face wipes: I have always been a makeup remover + cotton pads kinda girl when it comes to taking off my make-up. I used to use baby oil to take off my make up but then my skin started to become oil itself and everything was just a mess! My skin used to just be normal/combination but out of the blue it started to become more combination/oily. So I switched out to make-up wipes..and can I say, why haven't I used this before!? Super convenient and fast. Sometimes I even just use this and go to bed...but....shhhhh.

L'Oreal MagicLumi Concealer: I always wanted to try a lighter concealer under my eyes and down the bridge of my nose to act as a highlighter. I have a powder highlighter which I love, MAC's Whisper of Gilt from the Extradimension collection, but there are days when I feel like not having so much glitter so I tried this product. It really does what it's named after, it il"lumi"nated the areas where I wanted to highlight and covered up my dark circles. This product is amazing!

Philips Suction Cup Battery Pack: I know this is a really really random favourite but I love it! It's so convenient (as you can tell conveniency is very important to me) if your battery is running out, just put this on and instantly gives your phone a boost of energy! You just charge it on your computer and when you think you might need it store it in your bag! It's not bulky like most battery packs I've seen. I love it. And, I got it at Princess Auto. Random? Random.

So, that is all my july favourites! If you want to see a video version of this and shorter you can watch it below (also if you just wanna hear One Direction in the background you can also watch the video...)

Until next time!

Outfit of the Day - BB Cream

Hey lovelies,

Just wanted to update you guys with an Outfit of the Day, I called this look BB Cream. Sorry for the horrible Instagram quality picture. I have yet to find my camera charger! Still getting used to the blog and getting back to my Youtube videos so please bare with me!

So about this outfit: my sheer black shirt is from Forever 21. It's so cute because the sleeves have cut outs that's very en trend now. It has a high-low hem which also makes it great for tying at the front as well. The buttons are round and gold which gave me a lead way with what to accessorize this shirt with. I kept the accessories minimal because the outfit was very classy so I put on my gold Michael Kors watch. I have a gold statement choker under the collar that is beautiful and really adds to the shirt. It's a really old necklace that used to be my mother's so I don't know where you could find it. The nude belt is from Aldo that really compliments my light beige high-waisted pants from Bluenotes (such an old pair of pants but I thought they worked well with the look I was going for). For shoes, you can't see them at all but they are these black Oxford style shoes with a thick kitten heel that just pulled the whole outfit together and gave the outfit a very classy look. I was going to church so I feel that this outfit was simply yet very fashionable.

For my make-up, I didn't really take a picture again but I just did my regular foundation routine (a video will be up) and I did a beautiful gold and pink smokey eye. For my lips, I used my current favourite obsession, Revlon's Matte Lipstick in Smoked Peach. All I did to my hair was comb it and let it air dry then added some Moroccan oil to the ends of my hair. My hair is pretty much straight and in it's natural state.

I hope you enjoyed this post! I will have better pictures soon! Till then...

Peace and Love,

Mini summer haul + reviews

Hello my lovelies,

I am here with another blog post about some beauty products I've bought in a mini Sephora haul and I thought I would share with you some of the products I've purchased and had the time to try out.

Left to right:
NARS Eyeshadow duo palette in Hula Hula, Tokidoki Kabuki brush,
Urban Decay single eyeshadow in Buck, Sephora Duo eyepencil sharpener, Korres lip butter in Pomegranate &
fresh. Sugar lip treatment.

NARS Eyeshadow palette ($39.00CAN): I love this product, I actually have been meaning to purchase some of these eyeshadow duos and this is the one I've really wanted to try. The left side is a gorgeous strawberry pink colour with golden shimmers. So beautiful all over the lids for the summer. The right shadow is a beautiful hazelnut colour with golden shimmer that really is great in the crease. I think this eyeshadow duo is super pigmented and very sparkly, which I absolutely love. I definitely will be purchasing more colours later on!

Tokidoki Kabuki brush ($16.00CAN): Okay, I know what you guys are thinking..How. Is. This. Only. 16. Bucks? Well, Tokidoki unfortunately will be removed from the Sephora stores (BOO! I love this line, very dear to my heart *tear*) and they made everything 40%-50% off (I only say this because I went to one Sephora and it was 40% off and another one the next day and it was 50% there, so I'm not sure if it's the same everywhere!) The brush is super cute (just like all their other brushes, which I own as well) and the bristles are so soft! It was definitely worth the 16 bucks from it's original $36.00. I got the last one at the store I went to so I'm very happy. Be sure to check out and stock up on some of the items before it's completely gone! I know I will be.

Urban Decay single eyeshadow in Buck ($22.00CAN): This is my absolute, #1 go-to crease colour when I do my every day make up look. This eyeshadow is absolutely gorgeous it's a fawn brown matte colour. This colour is included in the infamous Naked Palette by Urban Decay as well. See, my sister and I share the Naked palette unfortunately and since moving out of my mom's room (it's not what you think, all of my sister and I's make up is stored there. We use her mirror to put on our make-up) to my room, she has claimed the territory of the make up palette. So, seeing as I really can't live without that colour and I have plenty of M.A.C Eyeshadows that can count as dupes for "Half Baked" (another fav colour from the Naked palette) I decided to buy Buck because it's my #1...I can't go without it.

Sephora duo eyepencil sharpener ($7.00CAN): I really needed one of these! Especially since I've used all of the tip of my Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer pencil and haven't sharpened it at all since. It's great! Has two holes, one for the normal sized pencil and a jumbo sized hole (great for my concealer pencil).

Korres Lipbutter ($16.50CAN): This lip butter is so beautiful! One of my favourite YouTube gurus, Bethany (MacBarbie07) talked about the Korres lip products and I am a lip junkie so I wanted to try out some of their products. I got the one in Pomegranate which is a sheer coral colour. It does have a little bit of colour to it, it mostly gives your lips a "your lip colour but better" look. So natural and very moisturizing! I recommend trying it, I did get the one in the jar which is always a con for lip products because of germs and bacteria and what not. But, I always use it when my hands are clean so for me it's not a problem. There are tube versions of Korres lip products so if it's an issue there is always an alternative!

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 ($22.00CAN): I absolutely love this product that I had to purchase the full size version. Originally, I received the sample size as my birthday gift from Sephora being a beauty insider. At first I was totally bummed to have received this instead of the Philosophy Birthday Cake but decided to give it a try and I have to say, I used up all the sample and decided it was well worth getting they full size version. So, this one is just the clear one but there are many other tinted ones which are just as amazing! I definitely want to try the coral one next :) But this is so good, I used it at night mostly but when I need extra moisture for my lips I throw it in bag and bring it around. I wake up and my lips feel so smooth and soft, it's definitely worth it. It also smells so good, like sweet lemons (which makes no sense because lemons are sour but that's how I describe it haha). Also, great for this summer because of the SPF 15! Sometimes we forget to protect the lips and focus on other areas like our face and body when lips are just as important! Just a quick glaze of this and your lips will not only be protected but hydrated!

Sorry about such the long raves about these products! They're just some of the items I've researched for a long time before purchasing (which is what I always do, especially buying high end or from lines which I've never purchased from before). Beauty and fashion are something that are very dear to me so it's only right to tell you guys how I feel about every product to help you in trying new products as well. I hope I did a good job in this post. Please look forward to more posts in the future! But for now...

Peace & Love,
Audrey x
